Executive Chef Jean Paul LuVanVi has been a Culinary Chef in Santa Barbara for over 25 years. He has an uncanny ability for combining pleasant, unexpected flavors in a manner that has made him a highly sought after talent in the culinary field. His resume reflects his long-term success at such California favorites as: The Cliff House, Beverly Hills Health Cafe, The Fish House, Santa Barbara Shellfish Company, La Barca, Chad's, Dish, Dish Cafe, Le Bon Cafe, Cielo and The Little Door. It would be an easy and natural path for him to continue his long-term success in the restaurant industry. However, his desire is to focus on his passion to provide health and wellness to anyone through nutritional delicious food. He has demonstrated that he has a solution to make this simple and affordable for all of his clients, even on a daily basis. Chef Jean Paul launched LuVanVi Foods in 2008 from the Organic Kitchen in Santa Barbara.
Combining the French flair ingrained in him from his mother’s Cordon Bleu training with his familial Vietnamese cuisine, Jean Paul started early learning to fuse flavors. Adding his love for southwestern seasonings and exotic tastes from around the world, Jean Paul’s culinary palette expanded. He used this broad reservoir of taste combinations to transform the concept of 'health food' into something flavorful, exotic and always nutritious.
Advancing his message of healthful eating, Chef Jean Paul previously coordinated a specialized organic food project for cancer patients at the Issels Clinic of Santa Barbara, where he carefully planned meals and measured the impact that quality food can make during the chemotherapy process.
In 2015, in order to further his business acumen to facilitate the desired growth of LuVanVi Foods, Jean Paul attended the WEV program, graduating with honors. Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV) is an intensive self-employment training course that encompasses all of the most important aspects of organizing, financing, marketing and managing a small business.
Chef Jean Paul’s passion is helping people heal themselves through food and he is a true advocate and living example that quality food can increase one's chances of a happier and healthier lifestyle. Chef Jean Paul continues to spread this message not only to health clinics, but also through teachings, recipes, privately catered events, meal planning and private deliveries to families throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.
